About the Job – Staff Accountant (Broken Arrow, OK)

AMETEK is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage daily accounting operations for its Chandler Engineering division in Broken Arrow, OK. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling key accounts, managing customer and vendor invoicing, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., A/P, Intercompany, Prepaid, Accrued Liabilities)
Process customer invoicing and ensure adherence to ASC606 revenue recognition standards
Manage customer portal invoicing, cash collections, and resolve discrepancies
Process vendor invoices and credit memos with 3-way match and overhead coding
Handle check runs, wire payments, and cash disbursement reconciliations
Reconcile intercompany balances and prepare monthly sales tax reports
Support quarterly SOX audit documentation
Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Willingness to work extended hours during critical reporting periods
Up to 5% travel for training

Compensation:

Salary range: $55,000 – $70,000 (based on experience and location)
