About the Job:

The Staff Accountant will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel expenses, credit card oversight, accruals, and bank reconciliations for both the Latin Recording Academy and its Cultural Foundation. The ideal candidate has experience with budgeting, managing multiple projects under deadlines, and possesses strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process accounts payable: review invoices, prepare payment requests, manage vendor setup, execute payment runs, and handle monthly closing.
  • Manage accounts receivable: prepare invoices, follow up on payments, process receipts, and handle monthly closing.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and generate related reports.
  • Provide administrative support, including during audits.
  • Manage the company cellphone program and assist with Latin GRAMMY event ticketing reconciliations.
  • Support permit and license renewals and other administrative tasks.
  • Review and process travel and credit card expense reports.
  • Collaborate with departments on AP/AR tasks and event-related finances.
  • Review and update AP/AR policies with the CFO.
  • Prepare and file annual 1099 forms with the IRS.
  • Support other projects as needed.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Blackbaud Financial Edge a plus).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Portuguese a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
