About the Opportunity:

Your Role:
As a Staff Accountant (internally known as Reinsurance Accountant), you will ensure the accurate and timely completion of daily reinsurance accounting and reporting tasks, with a focus on Loss Portfolio Transfers (LPTs). You will prepare financial reports, reconcile LPT programs, maintain general ledger balances, and collaborate with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare month-end closing reports and journal entries for LPT reporting.
- Reconcile various LPT programs, including bank accounts, monthly claims entries, loss runs, and escrow funding.
- Maintain monthly balancing of general ledger reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary contact for LPT programs, overseeing their setup, maintenance, and closure.
- Collaborate closely with claims and LPT departments for accurate recordkeeping.
- Adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual close schedules.
- Provide support for other reinsurance functions as needed.
- Participate in special projects.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, or Accounting (accounting degree preferred). Relevant experience with an Associate degree will be considered.
- 1+ years of accounting experience.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
