Position: Staff Accountant
Employment Type: Part-Time | Contract (W-2 or 1099, depending on qualifications and agreement)
Compensation: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour
Work Arrangement: Remote
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of TNL and its subsidiaries through a variety of critical accounting tasks, including:

Entering, processing, and reconciling vendor invoices and payments, while maintaining proper check register documentation and verifying signature authority.

Importing approved budgets into the accounting system.

Monitoring daily cash balances, credit card transactions, and bulk fuel credit accounts.

Generating customer invoices for services such as bus transportation and land use.

Processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll, including calculations for taxes, deductions, and timely payroll tax submissions.

Managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.

Maintaining accurate general ledger and financial records.

Assisting with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.

Performing regular bank reconciliations in coordination with the Controller.

Supporting policy compliance and contributing to the development of accounting procedures.

Preparing audit documentation and performing account reconciliations.

Posting journal entries and ensuring financial accuracy on a continuous basis.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).

Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience preferred.
Technical Skills:

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint is a plus.

Experience with QuickBooks and/or Deltek Costpoint is preferred.

Strong grasp of GAAP and double-entry accounting; familiarity with DCAA standards is a plus.
