The Team

The Risk pillar is a multi-disciplinary group of data analysts, scientists, product managers, and engineers working toward the shared goal of making Eventbrite the most trusted marketplace for live experiences. We collaborate across product, engineering, and operations to safeguard payments, content, and account security while staying agile in a constantly evolving threat landscape.

The Role

As a Team Lead, Data Science – Risk, you will:

  • Design and deploy machine learning solutions for transaction monitoring, account security, and content moderation.

  • Implement solutions in both real-time and offline environments.

  • Build monitoring and feedback loops to ensure reliability against evolving threats.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and process improvements to strengthen the team.

  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and leadership to align risk solutions with business goals.

The Skill Set

  • 5+ years of experience with Python (data processing + ML) and SQL (complex queries).

  • Fluency with ML algorithms and AI solutions, including deployment and monitoring in production.

  • Strong ability to deliver iterative, maintainable solutions and measure success statistically.

  • Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.

  • Passion for mentorship and providing technical leadership.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in fraud detection, spam/content moderation, or trust & safety.

  • Familiarity with DBT, Airflow, SageMaker, and Tableau.

  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events.

Pay Transparency (US)

$157,800 – $283,900 USD
(Eventbrite’s compensation also includes incentive programs such as equity and annual bonuses.)
