Job Summary

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is clinically competent and responsible for delivering patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The RN effectively interacts with patients, families, and the healthcare team while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Essential Functions

  • Assess and document patient’s health status and medical history, completing Admission Data Records as required.

  • Plan and implement nursing care using established Nurse Practice Standards and patient needs.

  • Evaluate and revise plans of care based on patient condition and new data.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and team members.

  • Provide direct patient care, administer medications/IVs, and document responses per policy.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure patient safety and charge capture.

  • Support patient education and provide timely written and verbal health information.

  • Ensure safe, clean, and organized patient environments, equipment, and supply usage.

  • Collaborate with team members, support orientation of new staff, and contribute to positive teamwork.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving, and ability to adapt to changing clinical priorities.

  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and comply with all safety, infection control, and organizational policies.

  • Attend required in-service education, training, and staff meetings.

Education

  • RN required.

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of nursing practice and operating room nursing.

Experience/Training

  • Minimum one year of recent operating room nursing experience required.

  • May substitute experience with successful completion of the SRH Nurse Residency Program.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current Washington State RN license (required).

  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (required).

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing.

  • Regular lifting or moving of patients and objects weighing 50+ pounds.

  • Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision with depth perception and focus ability.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base wage: $42.06 – $76.69 per hour.

  • $15,000 sign-on bonus.
