Staff Pharmacist – Cortland, NY
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.

Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications, manage inventory, process third-party billing, and maintain all required documentation.

Provide professional counseling to patients and healthcare providers on medication usage, dosages, interactions, and potential side effects.

Deliver patient-focused services such as immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and wellness consultations.

Oversee daily pharmacy operations and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Guide, train, and evaluate pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates to maintain high standards of service and compliance.

Keep the pharmacy work area clean, organized, and professional at all times.

Complete all mandatory continuing education in accordance with state requirements.

Achieve departmental financial goals, including maximizing sales and gross profit while controlling inventory loss and supply costs.

Maintain strict control and security of all regulated substances.
Minimum Qualifications

Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice.

Certification in immunization administration or willingness to complete certification.

Valid driver’s license and consent to driver’s license monitoring.

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (5-year program).

Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing equipment.

Effective communication skills—verbal, written, and electronic.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and assess team performance.

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Operates standard pharmacy equipment including computers, pill counters, cash registers, case cutters, and labeling tools.
