Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. This critical role ensures the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmacological knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols

Prepare sterile solutions and IV admixtures with precision

Provide drug information and therapeutic guidance to medical staff

Monitor patient medication therapies, offering advice on drug selection and dosing

Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations as well as hospital policies

Oversee daily pharmacy workflow and support pharmacy technicians and ancillary staff

Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical program support

Educate patients and healthcare providers on drug therapies and proper medication usage
Required Qualifications:
Education:
-
Must meet educational requirements for pharmacist licensure in the State of California

Preferred: Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy

Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and/or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program
Experience:

Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
Licensure/Certification:

Current Pharmacist license in the State of California – required
