Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. This critical role ensures the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmacological knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols

  • Prepare sterile solutions and IV admixtures with precision

  • Provide drug information and therapeutic guidance to medical staff

  • Monitor patient medication therapies, offering advice on drug selection and dosing

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations as well as hospital policies

  • Oversee daily pharmacy workflow and support pharmacy technicians and ancillary staff

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical program support

  • Educate patients and healthcare providers on drug therapies and proper medication usage

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Must meet educational requirements for pharmacist licensure in the State of California

  • Preferred: Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy

  • Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and/or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Pharmacist license in the State of California – required
