What You’ll Do
- Prepare food efficiently and accurately, following precise recipes and directions from the Executive and Sous Chefs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace before, during, and after events.
- Assist the Executive and Sous Chefs with menu creation.
- Prep meal ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing fruits and vegetables, and marinating meats.
- Ensure all dishes meet MSG standards for quality, quantity, presentation, and safety.
- Monitor food quality and ensure it is served at the correct portion size, temperature, and consistency.
- Adhere to Department of Health guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
- Perform opening and closing inventory checks, implement FIFO (First In, First Out) food rotation, and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean kitchen by scrubbing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and properly cleaning all cooking equipment.
- Inspect incoming food supplies to ensure they meet predetermined quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive or Sous Chef.
What You Need to Succeed
- Must adhere to all Department of Health guidelines consistently.
- Proven culinary experience in a fast-paced environment.
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in Culinary Arts is a plus.
- Food handler’s license required.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate measurements and ingredient use.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Excellent guest service skills with strong verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-energy environments.
Special Requirements
- Part-time role scheduled based on event needs.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and split days off in a 24/7 environment.
