About the Role
Join a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Stock Clerk, Sr. in our Operating Room Supply Chain. This role ensures timely inventory management, accurate supply distribution, and efficient stocking for peri-operative areas—critical to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Support: Answer phones with a positive, service-oriented approach; assist staff with supply requests and inventory information.

Inventory & Stocking: Receive, unpack, verify, store, and distribute supplies from vendors or internal sources.

Data Management: Enter supply orders into the materials management information system; monitor and maintain established par levels.

Quality Checks: Audit shipments for accuracy; perform overstock reviews; report discrepancies to supervisors.

Supply Optimization: Recommend product purchases based on usage trends; assist in replenishment using Kanban and/or barcode systems.

Collaboration: Attend daily MDI (Manage for Daily Improvement) huddles; communicate issues or outages promptly to leadership.

Other Duties: Support general peri-operative supply operations as assigned.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and other Office applications.

Ability to learn and use materials management systems for data entry and tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
-
2+ years’ experience with hospital/surgical supplies.

Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department (SPD), or supply chain experience.

Prior forklift operation experience.

Customer service background.
