Store Manager – Role & Responsibilities

As a Store Manager, you will oversee the daily operations and overall success of the store, leading both associates and management teams to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence. Your role will encompass customer service, employee development, labor and budget management, inventory control, asset protection, and store performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and report on weekly sales strategies to drive performance.
  • Manage and track store payroll and budget to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all local, state, and federal regulations related to food, labor, and safety.
  • Oversee hiring, attendance, retention, and performance management processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop store management and associates to enhance team performance and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a nationally or regionally recognized grocery, perishable goods, or big-box retail company.
  • Strong background in people management, department oversight, or store leadership.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, inventory management, payroll, P&L analysis, and project execution.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices, and interview techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain/Logistics.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to drive success in a fast-paced retail environment.
