H-E-B is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and people-focused Store Leader to oversee total store operations in Odessa and Midland, TX. You’ll lead merchandising, financial performance, team development, and customer experience in one of Texas’s most respected grocery brands.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Management

Make independent business and employment-related decisions (hiring, training, discipline, etc.)

Ensure appropriate inventory levels and control shrink

Oversee compliance with all food safety, freshness, and sanitation regulations

Delegate, monitor, and follow up on team tasks based on complexity and capability

Manage labor and production schedules for departments

Develop and mentor department managers and future leaders (SORL, SORM, Interns)

Promote teamwork and deliver real-time coaching and feedback

Own personal development in leadership and product knowledge
Sales & Merchandising

Lead store merchandising strategy to meet financial and customer goals

Tailor and execute corporate merchandising plans locally

Drive profitability expectations and communicate clearly with store teams

Track local competition and maintain competitive pricing strategy

Participate in Store Leadership Team to align goals and execution across departments
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience with proven leadership track record)
-
Extensive operational and team leadership experience
-
Food Safety Certification required

Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Leadership (SORL) Program upon hire

Strong knowledge of retail regulations, merchandising, and customer segmentation

Physical & Work Requirements

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift 40–60 lbs. regularly

Work extended hours and flexible schedules, including nights and weekends

Perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure retail setting

Be exposed to moderate noise levels
