Purpose of Role:

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and self-motivated individual to join our Stores team in Woking as a Stores Assistant. In this role, you will ensure all allocated orders are processed efficiently—picked, packed, and shipped in a timely manner to meet business demand. Reporting to the Stores Team Leader, you’ll work closely with the Stores and Warehouse teams, becoming a key part of Harvey Water Softeners’ operational team. A crucial aspect of this role is maintaining stock accuracy by ensuring all items are correctly transacted, while adhering to health and safety standards.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday rotational shift pattern: 08:00-16:30 / 08:30-17:00
  • Approximately 1 in 4 Saturdays: 08:30-12:30 (paid as overtime)

Duties Include:

  • Picking, packing, and shipping orders promptly (customer orders, product requests, etc.)
  • Transacting items on the internal system (IFS) to ensure correct allocation
  • Preparing product requests for field engineers to support first-time fit rates
  • Handling engineer over-the-counter queries
  • Taking accountability for transacting used stock
  • Collaborating with the inventory controller and team leader to implement process improvements
  • Replenishing stock to ensure availability for picking
  • Completing stock takes (potentially one per quarter)
  • Performing general stores duties, including cleaning and maintenance
  • Adhering to health and safety standards and reporting near misses when applicable

Required Experience / Skills / Qualities:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse/stores environment
  • Experience in a physical stock control environment
  • Computer literate
  • Flexible with a willing approach
  • Team player capable of working independently and using initiative
  • Effective time management skills
