Job Description:
As part of the Merrill organization, the Investment Solutions Group is dedicated to delivering world-class investment platforms, strategies, solutions, and support to clients across all wealth management divisions, including Merrill and the Private Bank.
The Hedge Fund Origination & Product Management Team plays a pivotal role in sourcing, structuring, and managing hedge fund investment opportunities tailored for Merrill and Private Bank clients. This role involves comprehensive oversight from origination through to product lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary liaison with third-party asset managers—fostering strong, strategic relationships and aligning manager capabilities with the goals of Merrill and the Private Bank.

Source top-tier hedge fund offerings by anticipating client demand, analyzing industry trends, and leveraging a broad network of fund managers.

Negotiate business terms including pricing, offering structures, exclusivity, capacity rights, and draft distribution agreements for client offerings.

Lead new fund launches by coordinating across asset managers and internal teams including Chief Investment Office (CIO) due diligence, platform operations, and distribution.

Maintain ongoing communication between asset managers and internal stakeholders, ensuring key fund updates are delivered effectively to clients, financial advisors, and internal teams.

Drive cross-functional initiatives to promote business growth and operational efficiency, supporting a unified Investment Solutions Group strategy.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in alternative investments, with a strong background in hedge fund product management or origination preferred.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

Proven capability to work both independently and collaboratively across all organizational levels.

Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and prioritize multiple initiatives.

Committed to mentoring and developing junior team members through thoughtful delegation and guidance.

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced credential (CFA or CAIA) preferred.

Active Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65) licenses required.
