Are you a people-focused professional with a passion for student support? We’re hiring a Student and Library Services Adviser to join our dynamic help desk team at ARU Writtle. As a Student and Library Services Adviser, you’ll provide guidance across a range of student services, library resources, and IT support. This part-time position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and a background in customer service or higher education.

 Student and Library Services Adviser – Your Role at ARU Writtle

Joining the newly launched Student and Library Services help desk, you’ll be the first point of contact for a wide range of student needs. In this Student and Library Services Adviser role, you’ll:

  • Offer support via phone, email, and face-to-face interaction

  • Help students navigate library systems, IT queries, and study spaces

  • Explain complex university policies and procedures in a student-friendly manner

  • Signpost to teams such as wellbeing, academic support, money advice, and employability services

  • Maintain calm and empathy when supporting students in distress

This position requires someone who can build trust quickly while managing administrative tasks with precision.

 Student and Library Services Adviser – What We’re Looking For

To thrive as a Student and Library Services Adviser, you should bring:

  • Two A Levels or an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification)

  • Experience in a customer service environment

  • Confidence using complex information systems and Microsoft Office

  • A proactive attitude, excellent listening skills, and attention to detail

Desirable: experience in a library or student services setting within higher or further education.
