Core Duties of a Student Placement Facilitator

 Student Placement Facilitator Responsibilities – Placement Management

  • Serve as the primary link between the Corporate Education Team, universities, and placement sites.

  • Manage all placement logistics including timetables, block dates, allocations, and digital records.

  • Ensure full compliance with policies, safeguarding standards, and NHS placement expectations.

  • Maintain active communication with all stakeholders regarding timelines and placement structure.

 Student Placement Facilitator Responsibilities – Communication & Support

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across CHG departments.

  • Act as the first point of contact for placement-related concerns from students and staff.

  • Monitor learner attendance and feedback to improve placement quality and engagement.

  • Support learners with day-to-day placement queries, guidance, and emotional wellbeing.

 Skills & Qualifications Needed for Student Placement Facilitator Role

To qualify as a Student Placement Facilitator, you should possess:

  • Current NMC registration

  • A Practice Assessor or Mentorship Qualification

  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Functional skills level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent GCSEs)

  • Experience in clinical education, placements, or workforce planning (preferred)
