At Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions (SGIS), we’re offering three Student Placement (Fixed Term) roles for aspiring Scientists, starting in August 2025. This one-year program is perfect for students studying Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field. Based at our East Leake site, you’ll gain valuable hands-on lab experience in product development and testing within the construction sector, while being supported by experienced mentors and a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities During Your Student Placement (Fixed Term)

Perform laboratory testing and product development activities.

Work with gypsum-based construction products and materials.

Shadow expert Scientists and engineers on practical tasks.

Support ongoing projects, independently and within teams.

Analyse and interpret data while receiving ongoing mentorship.
Skills & Requirements for the Student Placement (Fixed Term)
To be considered for the Student Placement (Fixed Term) opportunity, you’ll need:

At least two years completed towards a degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related subject.

A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Strong teamwork, communication, and data analysis skills.

A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and confidence to challenge existing processes.
