Job Overview
As a Student Success Advisor, you will serve as the consistent, caring touchpoint for a caseload of students and their families throughout the academic year. Your mission is to keep learners engaged, motivated, and on track while empowering families to navigate virtual schooling with confidence. Your primary accountability will be student and family retention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Mentorship & Support

Build supportive relationships with students and families through regular check-ins.

Help students set and track academic, personal, and future-focused goals.

Identify and address signs of disengagement with empathy and resources.

Coach on time management, motivation, study skills, and digital learning habits.

Foster belonging by promoting community and student life activities.
2. Family Engagement

Act as a trusted liaison for parents and caregivers.

Provide guidance on supporting student learning in a virtual environment.

Celebrate student achievements and troubleshoot challenges with families.
3. Re-enrollment & Retention
-
Guide families through the re-enrollment process.

Track and report student engagement, satisfaction, and retention metrics.
4. Collaboration & Communication

Partner with instructors, counselors, and administrators to deliver holistic support.

Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, goals, and interventions.
-
Advocate for student needs and connect them with additional services.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree (Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required; Master’s preferred).

3+ years of advising, coaching, or academic support experience (virtual preferred).

Knowledge of adolescent development and family dynamics.
-
Strong emotional intelligence, active listening, and solution-focused mindset.

Proficiency in digital communication tools and learning platforms.
