Job Description

New Line Learning Academy is seeking to appoint a motivated and inspirational Student Support Manager to join our growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a committed professional with recent experience working with secondary school-aged students and a passion for supporting behaviour, wellbeing, and academic engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support staff, students, and parents to ensure high standards of behaviour and engagement across the school

  • Work closely with students to establish rapport, promote positive relationships, and create a safe, respectful learning environment

  • Provide consistent support for vulnerable learners and help remove barriers to their learning

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and the wider pastoral team to develop behaviour strategies and intervention plans

  • Monitor and report on student progress, behavioural trends, and support outcomes

  • Contribute to safeguarding procedures in line with school policies

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Recent experience working with secondary school-aged students

  • Ability to build strong, professional relationships with young people

  • Understanding of how to support vulnerable students and manage challenging behaviour

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in a student support, pastoral, or inclusion role within a school setting

  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practices

  • Qualifications in youth work, education, or behaviour management (desirable but not required)
