Role Overview:
As a Summer Holiday Play Worker – Hull, you will collaborate with the Team Leader to create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for children and young people. Your responsibilities include leading and supervising stimulating activities tailored to individual abilities, encouraging participation in activities that spark interests and creativity, and ensuring the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child are met with respect to their backgrounds. You will also use various communication methods to connect with children, provide dignified personal care and physical assistance as needed, monitor and communicate any concerns to the Team Leader, keep session reports and records up to date, and follow risk assessment guidelines while staying informed on individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for children and young people.
- Lead and supervise stimulating activities tailored to individual abilities, whether one-on-one or in small groups.
- Encourage and empower children to participate in activities that spark their interests and creativity.
- Ensure the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child are met with respect to their cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.
- Use a variety of communication methods to connect with children in ways that suit them best.
- Provide dignified personal care and physical assistance as needed.
- Monitor and communicate any concerns or changes regarding children to the Team Leader and staff.
- Keep session reports and records up to date.
- Follow risk assessment guidelines and stay informed on individual care plans.
