Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure raw material availability and production capacity are sufficient to execute the production schedule before releasing it to the production team.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials to the facility.
  • Plan and manage material shipments, returns, and transfers between facilities.
  • Review key factors impacting production timelines, such as changeovers, sanitation schedules, and material constraints.
  • Develop and maintain finished goods production schedules aligned with inventory targets.
  • Generate daily production schedules across multiple lines, optimizing capacity and making real-time adjustments based on demand fluctuations.
  • Provide a rolling two-week production schedule each week by the end of the workweek.
  • Analyze trends and outliers to create contingency plans and minimize the impact of abnormal supply or demand disruptions.
  • Offer alternative solutions to customers when products are unavailable to meet exact specifications.
  • Lead the material planning process and continuously monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements across the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve fulfillment rates while meeting inventory objectives.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including QA, Production, Shipping, Customer Service, Sales, and Demand Planning.
  • Manage inventory transfers between facilities and resolve order and delivery discrepancies.
  • Develop strategies to minimize slow-moving and obsolete inventory and ensure timely inventory turnover.
  • Drive continuous improvements in production planning and reporting practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred; however, four (4) years of planning experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment is required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in production and inventory control is required; without a degree, six (6) years of related experience is necessary. This should include production reporting, physical inventory, reconciliation, and database management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with employees at all levels and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; prior experience with SAP is highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to present effective and practical solutions clearly to management.
  • Keen attention to detail is essential.
