Administrative Support Officer – RTT / Cancer / Medical Staffing
Location: Swansea Bay University Health Board (across Morriston, Singleton & Neath Port Talbot sites)
Contract: Fixed Term / Secondment – 9 Months (Maternity Cover)
Hours: Part-time – 15 hours/week (over 3 days)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medicine Service Group as an Administrative Support Officer, covering a 9-month maternity leave. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to gain insight into operational healthcare administration across specialties including Respiratory, Gastroenterology, COTE, Stroke, Neurology, and Diabetes/Endocrine.
You will provide high-quality administrative support to the Service Manager and Medical Support Manager, specifically in:

Referral to Treatment Time (RTT)

FUNB (Follow-Up Not Booked)
-
Cancer pathway tracking
-
Medical staffing support (rota vacancies, annual leave, and study leave)
This role spans across hospital sites and requires interaction with both clinical and clerical teams, requiring strong communication skills and a good eye for detail.
Key Duties

Validate and update RTT and cancer pathways using WPAS (Patient Administration System)

Respond to queries about patient pathways, clinic outcomes, and medical staffing matters

Maintain and support the coordination of medical rotas

Liaise with clinical and admin teams to ensure accurate data capture

Support ongoing audits, performance tracking, and administrative processes

Schedule meetings and assist with presentation materials as needed
What You’ll Need
Essential:

Strong organisational and IT skills, especially with data entry and tracking systems

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Experience in a busy admin or healthcare environment
Desirable:

Understanding of RTT pathways or NHS targets

Familiarity with WPAS or similar patient record systems

Ability to speak Welsh
