The Opportunity
We are seeking a Support Work in Schools Tutor to join our dynamic learning delivery team at Tower Hamlets. This is a rewarding full-time role for an experienced and passionate tutor who believes in the power of education to empower individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities
As a Core Tutor, you will:

Deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment

Design innovative schemes of work, lesson plans, and tailored resources

Adapt your teaching to a range of learning styles and mixed-ability learners
-
Use a range of diagnostic and initial assessment tools to inform learning plans

Apply RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) effectively

Uphold all quality standards as defined by Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
-
Work collaboratively with internal teams to support learners and enhance outcomes
-
Build relationships with learners facing multiple barriers to education and provide a welcoming and motivating learning environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A recognised Level 5 Teaching Qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET or equivalent)

Ideally, IQA and Assessor qualifications (desirable but not essential)
-
Experience in adult education, preferably working with marginalised or underrepresented groups
-
Strong understanding of RARPA, quality assurance, and Ofsted standards
-
A learner-centred and flexible teaching style, with a passion for community education
-
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and team-working skills
