Job Summary:
The Prisma Health Physician is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients within the Prisma Health-University Medical Group.
Accountabilities:

Diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases, defects, or injuries, and recommending or prescribing treatments to address physical, mental, or functional ailments.

Delivering medical treatment to patients in line with professional standards, without consideration of their ability to pay or their race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, or age.

Ensuring that all medical examinations and procedures are accurately documented, with timely and legible records, utilizing appropriate coding systems (CPT and ICD codes).

Participating in after-hours call coverage on a rotational basis with other physicians in the practice unless otherwise agreed.

Adhering to the standards of medical practice and the regulations of managed care organizations, including Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Pursuing continuous medical education to maintain certification and fulfill state licensing requirements.

Actively participating in non-revenue-generating activities that align with Prisma Health’s Vision and Mission. This may include committee participation, community outreach, supporting teaching and research goals, or other relevant activities.

Assisting with proposals for managed care contracts and contributing to the establishment of quality assurance, utilization management, patient education, and satisfaction programs.

Helping Prisma Health maintain required licenses, permits, and accreditations.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility:
This position is non-management and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
