Remote Surgical Coder Job – Join a Centralized Billing Office Team

We’re seeking a skilled Surgical Coder to join our Centralized Billing Office. As a Surgical Coder, you’ll ensure the timely, accurate, and compliant coding of physician services to help maximize reimbursement and maintain adherence to current payer guidelines. This is a full-time remote position (80 hours per pay period) offering a great opportunity to work with multi-specialty practices within PPN. Surgical Coder Responsibilities

As a Surgical Coder, your primary responsibility will be to review medical charts and documentation for accuracy and completeness. You’ll extract and assign correct procedural, E/M, and ICD-10 codes to reflect provider services accurately.

Key duties include:

  • Reviewing chart documentation to identify appropriate procedural, E/M, and ICD-10 codes.

  • Ensuring coding accuracy and compliance within established payer guidelines.

  • Supporting a centralized billing system serving multi-specialty practices.

  • Communicating with providers to enhance documentation quality and coding accuracy.

  • Collaborating with leadership and peers to maintain consistent coding standards.

  • Participating in coding education and feedback sessions to improve efficiency and accuracy.


Surgical Coder Qualifications

To succeed as a Surgical Coder, you must bring both technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure accurate coding and billing operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent certification.

  • 2–3 years of healthcare coding experience.

  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD, and third-party billing regulations.

  • Proficient computer and data entry skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proven reliability and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAPC or AHIMA coding certification.

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
