SURGICAL CODER – PPC

Position Overview:

The Surgical Coder ensures timely, accurate, and compliant coding of physician services to maximize reimbursement according to current payer guidelines. As part of the Centralized Billing Office (CBO), this role provides procedural, E/M, and ICD-10 coding services for multi-specialty practices within PPN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review chart documentation to extract and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and E/M codes for services performed.

  • Ensure all coding is compliant with payer guidelines and meets quality and timeliness standards.

  • Collaborate with providers to enhance documentation accuracy and coding compliance.

  • Provide feedback and education to physicians as requested to support continuous improvement.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding rules, billing regulations, and reimbursement processes.

  • Manage multiple coding tasks efficiently while meeting productivity goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.

  • Experience: 2–3 years of healthcare coding experience.

  • Certification: AAPC or AHIMA coding certification preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of CPT/ICD coding and third-party billing regulations.

    • Proficient in computer and data entry applications, including spreadsheets.

    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

    • Attention to detail, strong organizational, and time-management skills.

    • Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

Work Environment

  • Remote, Full-Time position.

  • 80 hours per pay period within a centralized billing team structure.
