THE ROLE:

As a System Administrator you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining the entire Microsoft Office suite within the organisation, including user accounts, access controls, data security, compliance monitoring, and ensuring the smooth and secure operation of applications like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business across the platform.

Typical tasks will include user provisioning, license management, security policy implementation, and troubleshooting issues related to MS 365 services.

You will also manage on premise and Azure networks, security, virtual machines and storage; and provide desktop and user support in the London office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include:

1/ User management: Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, assigning licenses, managing user permissions, and resetting passwords.

2/ Security administration: Implementing security policies, managing access controls, monitoring for suspicious activity, and configuring threat protection features.

3/ Compliance management: Ensuring adherence to data privacy regulations by managing retention policies, eDiscovery features, and data classification.

4/ Application configuration: Setting up and customising features within Microsoft 365 applications like Exchange Online (email), SharePoint Online (collaboration sites), Teams (communication), and OneDrive for Business (cloud storage).

5/ Service monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitor the health of Microsoft 365 services, identifying and resolving issues related to user access, application performance, and data integrity.

6/ Reporting and analysis: Generate reports on user activity, service usage, and security trends within the Microsoft 365 environment.

7/ Configure Networks on the Azure Networking Stack.

8/ Manage virtual machines in the Cloud. Thus, you will need to have familiarity with at least one of these hypervisor platforms: Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware vSphere.

9/ Be comfortable with: Configuring VM for performance, security, and optimum cost; Deploying VMs into VNs, Backing up VMs.

10/ Monitor Resources & Log Analytics.

11/ Implement Security & Protecting Identities: Encrypting data at rest, in use, and transit, Protect Azure Active Directory accounts from getting compromised.

12/ Implement & Manage Storage within Azure.

13/ Desktop and User Support.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Technical expertise: Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Azure Active Directory.

Security knowledge: Familiarity with security concepts like multi-factor authentication, data encryption, and identity management.

Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to user access, application functionality, and service outages.

Knowledge of data privacy regulations and how to implement compliance measures within Microsoft 365.
