GSI is seeking a talented SQL Database Administrator to manage and optimize data conversion and migration projects at our Palm Harbor, Florida headquarters. As a SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing advanced SQL scripts, ensuring the accuracy of data interfaces, and collaborating with business analysts and developers. This role requires a proactive professional who can troubleshoot complex database issues while supporting the full development life cycle. The SQL Database Administrator will play a key role in maintaining robust database systems that support evolving business requirements and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities for SQL Database Administrator

  • Lead data conversion and migration projects, ensuring seamless transfer from legacy systems to GSI platforms.

  • Design, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries, scripts, cursors, stored procedures, and triggers for enhanced performance.

  • Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to validate data accuracy and maintain database integrity.

  • Develop technical specifications and solutions through consultation with subject matter experts.

  • Track change requests, estimate effort, and update technical documentation for all database projects.


Technical Skills Required for SQL Database Administrator

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ including T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, and SSIS.

  • Proficiency in coding under ODBC and working with relational database management systems (RDBMS).

  • Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues, optimize code, and resolve complex data challenges.

  • Familiarity with database recovery methods, data integrity, and security protocols.

  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.


Qualifications for SQL Database Administrator

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in database administration in a technical environment.

  • Prior experience with labor market, Unemployment Insurance, or regulatory industries preferred.

  • Expertise in SQL Server database design, performance tuning, data migration, and reporting.


Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work onsite daily at GSI Headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida.

  • May be required to travel occasionally to client locations for data conversion planning sessions.

  • May be assigned additional projects or tasks as needed.
