About the Role
Geographic Solutions is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain data interfaces and conversions between client legacy systems and Geographic Solutions platforms. This role ensures data accuracy, system reliability, and optimized performance while supporting reporting and development needs. The position requires onsite work at our Palm Harbor, Florida headquarters.
Position Summary
As a SQL Server Database Developer, you will work closely with business analysts, subject matter experts, and application developers to create and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages. You will be responsible for ensuring the correct functionality of data interfaces, improving performance, and supporting database-related business processes within labor market and job services systems.
Key Responsibilities
Data Conversion & Migration

Participate fully in data conversion and migration projects.

Design advanced SQL queries, scripts, cursors, stored procedures, and triggers.

Optimize and improve SQL code for enhanced system performance.

Support accurate data transfer from legacy systems to Geographic Solutions platforms.
Collaboration & Development Support

Work with business analysts and end-users to fulfill reporting requirements.

Collaborate with application developers to ensure correct data structures.

Develop programming specifications in consultation with subject matter experts.

Manage change requests through the OPC ticket system and support application-wide data updates.
Database Administration & Performance

Monitor and resolve database performance issues.

Document database designs, conversion maps, and maintain technical documentation.

Apply best practices for data recovery, integrity, and optimization.

Learn and apply business rules governing data interaction within applications.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

5–7 years of database administration or development experience in SQL Server environments.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ including T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, and SSIS.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with RDBMS, full development life cycle, and coding under ODBC.
Preferred Experience

Experience in labor market systems, unemployment insurance, or regulatory industries.

Exposure to advanced SSIS programming and ETL processes.

Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
Special Requirements

Must work onsite at Palm Harbor, Florida headquarters daily.

May require travel to client sites for data conversion planning sessions.

May be assigned additional projects or tasks as needed.
