Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network systems essential for data communications. This role includes recommending enhancements to ensure the stability and efficiency of the company’s high-traffic, business-critical internet production environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of telecommunications, computer systems, network servers, field service equipment, and virtualization platforms.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, network, and software issues by performing diagnostics, documenting problems and solutions, prioritizing tasks, and evaluating the impact of issues.
  • Conducting or overseeing regular backup operations and establishing effective processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Planning and managing capacity, storage, database performance, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Assisting in monitoring system and network performance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Managing routine patch updates for desktop and server operating systems, as well as identifying and implementing critical security patches for enterprise systems.
  • Collaborating with team members across various business segments to enhance overall productivity and knowledge sharing.
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Fulfilling other technical or leadership tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in systems administration or a related field.
  • Experience with Linux OS is preferred.
  • Knowledge of VMware and/or virtual server environment administration is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in creating automation scripts for system administration is an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
