Position Overview
Uplift Michigan Online School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction aligned with state standards and students’ IEP goals. The teacher will ensure students receive individualized support, track progress, and collaborate with families and general education teachers to promote academic growth and engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IEP goals and state standards.

Review incoming student IEP documentation and write IEP goals.

Host and facilitate IEP, REED, MET, and MDR meetings.

Track student progress and update goal progress in EdPlan.

Provide Resource Room support and self-contained classroom instruction as needed.

Support students during weekly advisory sessions.

Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure consistent special education support.

Maintain timely and accurate student records (Skyward, CAT).

Communicate frequently with parents regarding student progress and concerns.

Conduct research, attend professional development, and maintain teaching certification.

Ensure a safe, nurturing, and consistent learning environment.

Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.

Michigan Teaching Certification in the assigned area; dual certification highly preferred (RX and MB or MA).

Pre-service teaching experience as required for certification.
Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.

Ability to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
