Job Overview
Southfields Academy invites applications for Teaching Assistant roles to support students across Years 7–11 and Sixth Form. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) support or post-16 education.
This is a fixed-term position for the 2025–2026 academic year (initially). Teaching Assistants will provide in-class and small group support for students with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SLCN, and literacy/numeracy challenges.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates who:

Have Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Maths

Are interested in gaining experience prior to teacher training

Have experience with young people with complex needs

Demonstrate strong behaviour management, flexibility, and emotional resilience

Are enthusiastic, calm, and highly organised

Can work one-on-one with students if required
All applicants will need to pass a literacy test and interview as part of the selection process.
