Salary: Grade 1B, SCP 4-5 – £24,404 to £24,790 per annum (Pro Rata, Term Time Only)

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with special educational needs (SEN), including autism and severe learning difficulties (SLD)? Chatsworth Futures Specialist College is expanding and looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated Level 1 Teaching Assistants to support learners aged 19–25 with diverse and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting Learners:

Assist young adults with autism and SLD in the classroom and during offsite activities.

Provide one-on-one and group support to help learners access lessons, build independence, and boost confidence.

Attend to personal care needs, including hygiene, feeding, toileting, and physical care.

Record progress, promote engagement, and build positive relationships.
Supporting Tutors/Session Leads:
-
Assist with lesson preparation and classroom setup.

Help maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment.

Monitor and report learner progress and behaviour.

Carry out clerical duties (e.g., photocopying, typing, filing).
Curriculum Support:

Support learners in understanding instructions and using ICT tools.

Help implement local and national learning strategies.

Prepare resources and maintain classroom equipment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who:

Are committed to supporting learners with SEN in a compassionate, professional manner.

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and reliability.
-
Have experience (paid or voluntary) working with young people or adults with learning disabilities.
-
Are adaptable and proactive with good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in personal care or health support is advantageous but not essential—training will be provided.
