The Environment Agency is seeking motivated and proactive individuals to join our team as a Technical Officer within the Data and Digitisation Team in Permitting. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity for a Technical Officer to support vital national services at the heart of environmental regulation while contributing to digital transformation projects. You’ll play a key role in enhancing data management, business reporting, and digital systems, while completing a Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship. Key Responsibilities of a Technical Officer
As a Technical Officer, you’ll support the Permitting Service across four critical areas: stabilise, enhance, transform, and decommission. Your responsibilities will include:

Applying knowledge from your apprenticeship to work alongside Data Specialists managing and maintaining data systems.

Extracting, transforming, and loading data to support accurate KPI reporting, work queues, and permit allocation.

Coordinating responses to data queries, resolving database and process issues, and identifying trends.

Using a range of analysis and visualisation techniques to present data insights to stakeholders for better decision-making.

Promoting data literacy and ensuring compliance with data governance, access, and protection policies.

Developing IT solutions using Microsoft 365 Power tools tailored to evolving business needs.

Supporting migration to the Regulatory Services Platform (ReSP).
