We’re seeking a passionate and technically skilled Technical Officer – 30854 to join our dynamic environmental team in Yorkshire. What You’ll Do – Technical Officer – 30854 Responsibilities
Technical Officer – 30854 Core Responsibilities

Respond to planning consultations from local authorities.

Provide technical advice on land contamination and environmental permitting.

Support internal regulatory teams on compliance with water, waste, and installation activities.

Manage Yorkshire’s groundwater level and quality monitoring networks.

Analyse hydrogeological data and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Guide licensing and permitting decisions with sound scientific evidence.
Technical Officer – 30854 Incident Response and Communication

Participate in environmental incident response duties (training provided).

Communicate complex technical data clearly to internal teams and external audiences.

Engage in occasional site visits, in-person and virtual meetings across Yorkshire.

Skills and Experience We’re Looking For

Degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science or related field—or relevant work experience.

Knowledge of contaminated land, groundwater quality, and hydrogeology.

Strong data interpretation, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working in teams, with a proactive and organised approach.

Clear understanding of key environmental legislation (e.g. Water Framework Directive, Environmental Permitting Regulations).

Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong IT/data handling abilities.

Full UK driving licence (beneficial, not essential).
