About the Role
Toast is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead the execution of People Products solutions that transform how we attract, retain, and empower employees. You will manage complex, cross-functional initiatives across our core platforms with a dual focus:

Driving innovation in AI-powered, cloud-based employee experience solutions.

Leading People Products technical program management across the portfolio.
As part of the People and Places team, your mission will be to create personalized, self-service employee experiences that boost productivity, engagement, and retention—while also laying the foundation for scalable, compliant, and secure solutions.
What You’ll Do
Technical Product Development

Execute on the product vision and roadmap aligned with business needs and employee experience goals.

Manage the full product lifecycle: ideation, research, development, deployment, and iteration.

Drive automation and AI-powered conversational solutions using data insights and A/B testing.

Partner with engineering, data, and design teams to deliver intuitive, high-impact tools.
Technical Program Management

Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs with clear milestones and risk management.

Partner with leadership on portfolio planning, program launches, and execution.

Create executive summaries, launch newsletters, and communicate program value across the org.

Track KPIs to measure success and continuously optimize impact.
Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the central bridge between engineering, product, and the People team.

Present product demos, technical concepts, and updates to technical and executive audiences.

Build consensus across stakeholders by simplifying complex ideas and aligning objectives.
Platform Governance & Optimization

Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security standards.

Define and monitor success metrics and proactively manage technical debt.

Maintain platform documentation and oversee optimization of People & Places systems.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred).

10+ years of technical product management and program leadership experience, including launching products for 10,000+ employees.

At least 2 years managing AI-related programs and solutions.

Strong technical acumen with expertise in Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Asana, Confluence).

Hands-on experience with AI tools, frameworks, or platforms.

Proven ability to lead large cross-functional projects (big data, analytics, AI, ML).

Strong design experience (wireframing, product marketing enablement materials).

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Desired Skills

Familiarity with data analysis, visualization, and metrics-driven decision-making.

Strategic thinking with ability to translate trends into product and program execution.

Certifications (AI Product Management, PMP, Pragmatic Institute) are a plus.
