Primary Purpose
Fence Technicians thrive on the road, transporting fencing materials to designated work sites. With a strong focus on customer service, you will ensure fast, efficient, and professional service. This role involves installing fences securely into the ground using a “kittyhawk.”
Essential Functions
- Perform daily inspections of all assigned tools to ensure safety and proper functionality.
- Verify truck loads to confirm all necessary materials (fence panels, poles, tools, etc.) are present for scheduled jobs.
- Conduct a pre-shift vehicle inspection and report any issues to the shop immediately.
- Drive the fence vehicle to and from designated work sites.
- Unload and install fence panels using appropriate tools, following specified measurements and placement guidelines.
- Plan and coordinate workload with the Fence Helper, ensuring efficient workflow and quality installations.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, and site conditions to confirm compliance with job specifications.
- Communicate with the site superintendent (or designated representative) to verify work orders. Maintain contact with supervisors via phone or radio for updates or location changes.
- Record personnel, production, and operational data on designated forms and submit reports to the Fence Manager at the end of each shift.
- Train the Fence Helper on proper installation procedures, safety protocols, and job site best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of general labor experience.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong time management, customer service, and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Crouch and squat as needed.
- Push and pull up to 100 lbs. horizontally.
