About the Role

As a Service Operation Engineer, you’ll be the face of Ogi on the ground—installing fibre services at homes and businesses while delivering top-tier customer experiences. You’ll carry out both overhead and underground installations, work safely and independently, and leave every customer with a reliable connection and a smile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and activate fibre broadband at customer premises, delivering clean, professional setups

  • Carry out overhead and underground cabling work (ducts, poles, internal wiring)

  • Perform vehicle/tool/PPE safety checks daily

  • Conduct job-specific risk assessments and method statements

  • Support minor civils tasks (digging, duct clearing, reinstatement)

  • Educate customers on equipment and connectivity before sign-off

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and issues encountered

  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and the engineering team to ensure smooth job flow

About You

You’re hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working in the field. You thrive in a dynamic environment, value customer service, and take pride in getting things done right the first time.

Essential:

  • Experience with fibre installations

  • Excellent communication skills and customer-facing approach

  • Confident working independently and solving problems

  • Familiarity with BT Openreach and PIA networks

  • Understanding of Health & Safety procedures

  • Ability to read and follow network build plans

  • Willingness to work outside normal hours occasionally

Desirable certifications (but we’ll train the right candidates):

  • NRSWA Unit 2 (Signing, Lighting & Guarding)

  • SA001 & SA002 (Overhead & Underground Safety)

  • S7/S8 PIA Sub Duct & Overhead Installation

  • IPAF

  • N28
