Teller (Part Time)

Job Description

In This Role, You Will:

Operations

• Accurately execute teller banking transactions in line with Popular’s policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.

• Process all payment and receipt transactions for various products and services courteously, while adhering to established guidelines.

• Personalize each transaction by addressing clients by name to enhance their experience.

• Maintain a secure and organized teller area with the minimum necessary cash, ensuring it is stored according to security protocols.

• Restock and balance cash drawers, ATMs, cash recyclers, and vaults as needed.

• Assist with processing night depository bags, currency, and ATM settlements when required.

• Ensure compliance with all bank policies and regulations to guarantee successful assessments and audits.

Sales

• Collaborate with branch managers and supervisors to meet or exceed personal sales targets.

• Build trust-based relationships with clients, uncovering their needs to offer tailored solutions and recommend relevant products/services.

• Support marketing campaigns and product launches, using appropriate sales techniques and branch technology to drive results.

• Educate clients on self-service banking options (e.g., online banking, mobile services, bill pay, digital wallets) and encourage their use.

• Stay updated with management on new bank initiatives and product offerings.

Customer Experience

• Promote a customer-focused environment that encourages continuous feedback and improvement.

• Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and offer alternatives when clients seek to close or update their accounts.

• Actively listen to customer inquiries and resolve problems proactively, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.

Risk Management

• Support compliance functions, including audits, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Ensure adherence to all safety and security procedures, and report any discrepancies or fraudulent activities.

• Maintain confidentiality of customer information, following all bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma (or equivalent), with an ongoing commitment to education and six months of cash handling or retail sales experience.

Salary Range

• The base salary for this role in New York City typically ranges between $20.00 and $22.50 per hour, depending on your qualifications and experience. This does not include any incentive compensation, commission, or other types of remuneration.
