Key Responsibilities
- Strengthen Customer Relationships: Foster strong partnerships through a team-based selling approach.
- Ensure Efficient Deliveries: Oversee deliveries according to the transportation department’s routing schedule and address any issues that arise, such as delivery errors, shortages, or stock-outs.
- Manage Accounts Receivable: Collaborate with the credit department to collect outstanding balances within approved credit terms.
- Drive Business Growth: Utilize market intelligence databases, business directories, and industry events to identify new business opportunities and develop prospective customer relationships.
- Maximize Sales Opportunities: Leverage internal resources to penetrate key accounts and support new account openings.
- Stay Informed on Market Trends: Maintain knowledge of market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings to provide valuable insights to customers.
- On-Site Customer Engagement: Travel to customer locations to ensure product deliveries, which may require lifting or carrying up to 75 lbs.
Supervision
- No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Key Relationships
- Internal: Work closely with District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit teams, Merchandising & Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact departments.
- External: Engage with customers, vendors, and prospective clients.
Work Environment
- Field-based role involving customer visits in various weather and temperature conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Experience:
- 1+ years of sales experience preferred.
- Background in foodservice, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective presentation abilities.
- Ability to develop relationships, cold call, and drive new business opportunities.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Competitive mindset with a results-driven approach.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
