About the Job

The Texas Commission on Fire Protection is hiring a Testing Auditor to support statewide fire service certification, testing, and training compliance. As a Testing Auditor, you will proctor exams, review training programs, and ensure that Texas fire protection personnel meet state codes and standards. Key Responsibilities of a Testing Auditor

As a Testing Auditor, your main duties will include:

  • Proctoring written and online certification exams statewide.

  • Auditing training programs and skill-testing sites for compliance.

  • Reviewing eligibility for military, volunteer, and out-of-state fire personnel.

  • Approving training course requests and assisting test sites.

  • Conducting facility inspections and department audits.

  • Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records.


Qualifications for a Testing Auditor

To qualify as a Testing Auditor, you need:

  • High school diploma (college degree preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applications.

  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to travel extensively.

Preferred: Fire service certifications, NFPA standards knowledge, or experience in auditing, training, or compliance.
