Job Description

Do you enjoy working at night and getting a built-in workout on the job? H-E-B is now hiring Part-Time Night Stockers to join our overnight crew in Texas City, TX. You’ll help keep our shelves stocked, store clean, and departments organized while most people are asleep.

As part of our highly efficient night team, you’ll stock, rotate, and organize products across the store. This hands-on role offers opportunities to grow your knowledge across departments—from Grocery to Frozen to General Merchandise—and build a career with a Partner-owned company that puts People First.

Responsibilities

Stocking

  • Restock shelves and refill merchandise displays

  • Move, unload, and organize heavy and bulky products

  • Apply product knowledge and attention to detail (e.g., rotation dates, labels)

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the stock room and aisles

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety practices

  • Work productively with a positive team mindset

  • Meet nightly goals and support teammates

Customer Service

  • Collaborate across departments (e.g., Curbside, Grocery)

  • Assist customers with product locations and questions

  • Maintain a service-oriented and helpful attitude

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Prior stocking or physically demanding job experience preferred

  • Forklift / power jack training provided upon hire

  • Strong communication, time management, and organization skills

  • Ability to handle repetitive physical tasks, including lifting heavy items

  • Must be comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands by Department

Grocery / Drugstore / GM:

  • Constant grasping and reaching at waist

  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending

  • Lift up to 50–66 lbs, manage loads over 100 lbs

Dairy / Frozen:

  • Constant exposure to cold temperatures

  • Lift up to 60–86 lbs, manage loads over 100 lbs

Partners must never exceed their safe lifting limits. Break down heavy items or ask for help when needed.
