Your Role as Transport Team Manager

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll lead and manage day-to-day operations during your shift. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily traffic operations for your shift.

  • Train, mentor, and motivate drivers and team members.

  • Monitor KPIs, driver hours, tachograph data, and O-licence compliance.

  • Investigate and report on transport incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing improvements.

  • Ensure statutory regulations and H&S standards are adhered to.

  • Create shift plans, monitor performance, and act quickly to meet targets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet changing demands.

  • Promote a positive, performance-based team culture.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year in a transport leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation.

  • Able to manage people, shift operations, and safety-critical tasks in real-time.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and coaching skills.

  • Comfortable with G Suite and operational systems.

Personal Attributes:

  • Resilient under pressure and capable of quick, sound decision-making.

  • Passionate about leadership and performance improvement.

  • Committed to team development and continuous improvement.
