About the Role
Holcim US, a leading provider of high-quality construction materials, is seeking a Truck Driver RMX for our Ready Mix Plant in Frederick, MD. This position is responsible for safely operating a concrete mixer truck, transporting concrete to and from job sites, and ensuring the proper functioning of the vehicle while adhering to all safety regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating the Truck: Safely drive the concrete mixer truck to and from job sites, ensuring the truck is in optimal working condition and complying with road safety regulations.

  • Ensuring Concrete Quality: Mix and transport concrete according to specified ratios, ensuring it meets quality standards and remains in proper condition during transport.

  • Delivery & Timeliness: Deliver concrete to construction sites on time while maintaining its integrity and meeting deadlines.

  • Customer Service: Engage with customers on-site, ensuring accurate delivery and addressing any questions about the product or process.

  • Monitoring Concrete Conditions: Assess and adjust the concrete mix during transport to maintain consistency and temperature.

  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness, including checking tires, brakes, and lights.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate protective gear and ensuring safety measures are observed during unloading.

  • Maintaining Records: Keep accurate logs of deliveries, including quantities, times, and any special instructions.

  • Truck Maintenance: Clean the mixer drum after every delivery to prevent concrete from hardening and ensure the truck’s proper maintenance.

  • Handling Adverse Conditions: Adapt to challenges such as weather, road conditions, or site access issues that may affect deliveries.

This role combines technical knowledge of concrete mixing with truck driving, customer service, and safety procedures.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid CDL Class A or B: A Class A CDL is required for larger vehicles, while Class B is needed for smaller mixer trucks.

  • Clean Driving Record: A history of safe driving, with no major traffic violations or accidents within a specified time frame.

  • Experience: Previous experience driving large trucks or construction vehicles, with a good understanding of truck handling, especially in construction zones or adverse weather conditions.

  • Knowledge of Concrete: Basic knowledge of concrete mixing, its properties, and transport (preferred).

  • Truck Maintenance: Basic understanding of truck maintenance and proper handling of the mixer drum.

  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety procedures, including working with concrete additives and operating in work zones.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and site workers.

  • Weather Adaptability: Comfort with working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow delivery instructions, ensuring that the concrete mix and delivery meet customer requirements.
