Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Person in maintaining agricultural and related equipment as required.

  • Communicate regularly with the trucking dispatcher to ensure smooth operations.

  • Transport agricultural equipment and supplies to various locations across California.

  • Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with D.O.T. regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with Total Process Reliability (TPR) standards.

  • Report and document any unsafe conditions encountered.

  • Assist with minor routine maintenance of equipment and machinery.

  • Report any vehicular and equipment defects discovered during pre/post-trip inspections.

  • Travel to various locations, including the possibility of overnight stays.

  • Perform light mechanical work when workload permits.

  • Operate with high integrity, adhering to corporate business ethics guidelines.

  • Follow departmental rules and policies, cooperating with supervisors and managers to meet project goals.

  • Maintain clean and organized shop areas and job sites.

  • Work efficiently to foster teamwork and cooperation across the department.

  • Safely load/unload equipment and maintain proper tool and equipment safety standards.

  • Operate pilot vehicles for “oversized” equipment moves, including carrot harvester relocations.

  • Operate stationary and moving overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment within safety guidelines.

  • Perform routine maintenance, testing, and evaluation of agricultural equipment.

  • Repair, replace, adjust, and align machinery components.

  • Clean and lubricate machinery and parts as necessary.

  • Examine equipment parts for defects and perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; or two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid California Class A Driver’s License with Doubles Endorsement.

  • Ability to speak English effectively.

  • Must complete required D.O.T. paperwork clearly and professionally.

  • Experience safely operating and loading heavy equipment.

  • Ability to operate hauling equipment to its maximum capacity safely and efficiently.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Punctual with excellent attendance and a cooperative attitude.

  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

  • Basic knowledge of arc/mig welding and cutting methods.

  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Experience with Total Process Reliability (TPR) maintenance is a plus.

  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions with common sense.

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable hauling experience.

  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and safety standards.

  • Current HAZMAT endorsement (must obtain within 90 days of hire).

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and overnight when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar role.

  • Technical school training is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Capable of climbing steps or ladders and working in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, dusty, etc.).

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and perform physical tasks like bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

  • Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job tasks safely.

Hours & Workdays:

  • 1st shift: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM on Friday.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
