Position Summary

As a Staff Pharmacist at Walmart, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You’ll be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling customers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting a culture of safety and accuracy—all while helping our customers live better.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide Patient-Focused Care
    Accurately process and dispense prescription medications, counsel patients on medication use and health concerns, and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Administer immunizations and support additional Walmart wellness programs in accordance with applicable pharmacy regulations.

  • Promote Quality and Safety
    Foster a culture focused on patient care, safety, and accuracy. Ensure proper counseling for new therapies or as requested by patients. Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and identify and implement quality improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrate Clinical Expertise
    Stay current with best practices and pharmacy standards. Offer expert guidance to peers, support business needs through effective action plans, and align pharmacy operations with customer expectations and company goals.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance
    Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws, company policies, and industry regulations. Monitor loss prevention measures, safety protocols, and documentation procedures to ensure legal and ethical standards are met.

  • Drive Operational Excellence
    Partner with stakeholders to implement solutions that improve processes, drive compliance, and enhance patient outcomes. Monitor progress, adjust to changes, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Support Ethical Practices
    Uphold Walmart’s values and ethical standards. Model integrity, transparency, and fairness in all actions, and guide others to follow suit.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or equivalent Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination (FPGE) through NABP.

  • Active pharmacy license (must be obtained by job start date).

  • Completion of an ACPE-accredited immunization training program (e.g., APhA or pharmacy school curriculum).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $98,000 – $172,000 (based on a 40-hour workweek; prorated for other schedules).
