Streets and Stormwater Division – Job Overview
Streets:
Performs construction, installation, and repair of streets, including curbs, sidewalks, and related structures. Work includes pipe installation, cement work, and general construction tasks. Requires working in adverse weather conditions under the supervision of a senior team member.
Stormwater:
Handles maintenance of stormwater inlets and baskets. May operate or assist on equipment such as vactor trucks and TV inspection trucks for cleaning and inspecting storm systems. Oversees unskilled workers as needed and must work in all weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
Utility Service Worker I (Streets & Stormwater):

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions

At least 6 months of experience in construction, masonry, or a related field preferred
Utility Service Worker II (Streets):

High school diploma or GED
-
2 years of road construction experience, including storm drains, asphalt, brickwork, sidewalks, curbs, or concrete work

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience accepted

Must be able to progress from Worker I to Worker II based on experience
Licensing Requirements:

Florida CDL Class A or B may be required depending on assignment

Tanker endorsement may be required within 6 months

Must be reliably reachable by phone for urgent work situations
