About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly organised and motivated Assistant Patient Pathway Administrator to support clinical and administrative teams at Churchill Hospital. As part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you’ll play a key role in enhancing patient care through efficient administration and data management.

This is a 3-month temporary role ideal for candidates who want to gain NHS experience and contribute to patient care in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including consultants

  • Manage incoming calls and emails from patients, relatives, and GPs

  • Use transcription software to produce accurate medical correspondence

  • File, manage, and track patient records and clinical documentation (EPR)

  • Support appointment bookings via e-Referral system (ERS)

  • Maintain high data quality, ensuring timely updates and error correction

  • Liaise with internal departments and external organisations for patient care continuity

  • Respond to PALS queries and assist in complaint resolution

  • Deputise for the Patient Pathway Administrator when required

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Experience working with the public in a professional setting

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise workload

  • Comfortable working under pressure in busy clinical environments

  • IT literate, with experience in Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Previous NHS or healthcare admin experience

  • Familiarity with the Electronic Patient Record System (EPR)

  • Experience handling sensitive information within Data Protection regulations

  • Prior work with clinical correspondence and booking systems
