About PEGS

PEGS (Parental Education Growth Support) is a lived-experience-led, trauma-informed charity that supports parents, carers, and professionals impacted by Child to Parent Abuse (CPA). Our mission is to raise awareness, drive systemic change, and provide practical support and training nationwide.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and passionate Volunteer and Training Coordinator to join our growing team. This dual-focused role is responsible for both developing and managing a structured volunteer programme and designing and delivering CPD-accredited training for internal and external audiences. This role plays a key part in how PEGS engages communities, supports its volunteers, and educates professionals across sectors such as education, health, and social care.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Programme Coordination

  • Develop and maintain volunteer roles, contracts, and a structured volunteer framework

  • Plan and host recruitment campaigns, induction sessions, and volunteer onboarding

  • Manage volunteer schedules, maintain regular communication, and conduct supervision

  • Organise recognition initiatives and provide continuous support and feedback

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation including handbooks, evaluation forms, and reports

Training Delivery and Development

  • Design, update, and deliver CPD-accredited training content aligned with PEGS’ values

  • Tailor training to suit various sectors and audience needs (e.g. social care, education)

  • Use participant feedback to continuously improve training materials and methodology

  • Facilitate training through in-person sessions, online platforms, workshops, and conferences

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering training to volunteers or professionals

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with or coordinating volunteers

  • Strong facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills

  • Sound understanding of trauma-informed practices and safeguarding

  • UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to travel requirements)

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of the charity/voluntary sector

  • Experience working with people with lived experience

  • Familiarity with co-production approaches and inclusive training design

Interview Process

  • Stage 2: Presentation preparation task (brief provided to shortlisted applicants)

  • Stage 3: Final interview with presentation delivery to Director and Service Manager
