Job Overview
This is a 3rd Shift position in the Plant Warehouse, responsible for supervising and performing metals processing and distribution tasks. The role involves operating specialized equipment and supporting essential functions, requiring a strong understanding of materials, processes, and operational methods utilized by Phoenix Metals in the manufacturing and distribution of metal products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operations, covering multiple departments or functional areas.
- Develop and implement work schedules, assignments, and processes to meet production and safety objectives.
- Conduct routine inspections of production areas, monitoring employee activities to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency.
- Analyze specifications, blueprints, work orders, and inventory reports to determine production needs and scheduling.
- Assess labor requirements and make recommendations for staffing adjustments.
- Review performance data to measure productivity, identify areas for cost reduction, and improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize inventory models, schedules, and reports to analyze stock levels and forecast future needs.
- Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest and implement enhancements to working conditions and equipment use to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate cross-departmental activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures effectively.
- Provide staff with the necessary information, support, and timely follow-ups to ensure job success.
- Lead team meetings, facilitate discussions, and promote a collaborative work environment.
- Assist in hiring, training, mentoring, and developing employees, fostering a high-performance team culture.
Required & Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience or a combination of education and relevant operations experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, machinery, material handling, cost and inventory management, and quality control.
- Understanding of company products and their applications.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage time effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound decision-making skills, leveraging experience, analysis, and judgment.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external partners.
